For our self-drive options, to make use of our service, you must be able to prove that you are at least 30 years of age and have a valid South African Drivers Licence (or equivalent International Drivers Licence).
For our Chauffeur-driven options, to make use of our service, the minimum age is 17 and your booking confirmation must be accompanied by a written consent from a legal Guardian.
You send Calibre a booking request, specifying which vehicle and dates for which you wish to use the vehicle. If the vehicle is available we confirm the dates and send you a booking form to complete which includes banking details and the amount to EFT. Once we receive the funds in our account, you will receive a booking confirmation. In addition, on the day before your rental commences we will place a hold for a specific amount on your credit card – as detailed on the booking form. This hold will be released 48 hours after the return of the car, in good order. Should the car be late, excessively dirty, or have been smoked in we will deduct the relevant fees from your credit card. Should the vehicle be damaged in any way we retain the right to continue the hold on these funds until the amount to be deducted has been finalised.
Should you wish to change your dates we will do our very best to accommodate your changes. However, should your preferred vehicle be unavailable for the revised dates we will have to implement the following cancellation policy.
More than 4 weeks notice: 100% refund policy
4 weeks – 3 weeks notice: 75% refund
3 weeks – 2 weeks notice: 50% refund
2 weeks – 1 weeks notice: 25% refund
less than 1 weeks notice: no refund
We drop off and collect vehicles – and accept drop-offs and collections between 9am and 8pm, 7 days a week. Should you have any requirements outside these hours, we are happy to generate a customised quote to accommodate your requirements.
Not at all, providing the car with a full tank of petrol is part of our service to you. However, if the vehicle requires additional fuel during your time of usage you will need to cover these costs.
Should your drop-off / collection point fall within a 20km radius of Sandton CBD, we will be happy to offer you free Doorstep Delivery and Collection. Should your points lie further afield, please advise us and we provide you with a customised quotation, subject to confirmation of location and time.

If you are using the self-drive option, being late will automatically cause you to be liable for an additional days’ rental. Should you be using the chauffeur option and keep the driver waiting, late charges as additional hours’ rental will apply. This will not apply to delayed flight scenarios, etc.
The driver is wholly liable for any traffic infringements incurred during the rental period and will sign a document agreeing to this condition. In addition, an admin fee of R300.00 per infringement with be applicable.
You will need to contact us immediately in order to bring the spare key to you. A R400 fee will be levied for this service should the vehicle be present in the Johannesburg area. Should the vehicle be located elsewhere a R 1000 fee will be levied. The renter will also be liable for the replacement cost of the key from the relevant dealer.
We will do our level best to assist you. Should your flight be less than an hour late we will wait for you at the airport. Should your flight be delayed by more than two hours we will endeavour to shift your booking, providing the availability of the vehicle allows. We reserve the right to collect you in another vehicle at the rate of booking, should flight delays affect your collection time.
